What is a electric power assisted cycle?

It’s a bicycle with an auxiliary electric motor that contributes to the propulsion of the bicycle. It is defined by the european norm EN15194.

Insurance and helmet are compulsory when using an e-bike?

In many countries the norm says the e-bike is equivalent to a normal bike and subject to the same rules. Please make sure this applies to the country where you intend to use the bike. Using a helmet reduces the risk of head injuries in case of accident.

Should the e-bike be registered? do I need a licence plate?

Are e-bikes good for up-hill riding?

The electric motor is quite helpful when riding uphill, just be cautious not to use it long enough to overheat it. All our e-bike models (except the Spring) have Shimano gears to help you choose the proper ratio, in order to optimize muscular contribution.

Which battery types do you use?

Beauty and Spring use Sealed Lead Acid batteries, the models of the Lux series have NiMH batteries as standard and optional Lithium batteries, The Elite series uses exclusively Lithium batteries with Panasonic cells.

Do batteries have any memory effect?

SLA and Lithium don’t have any memory effect, actually they last much longer if regularly charged before they are fully discharged, NiMH batteries have very little memory effect which is neutralized by fully discharging them once a month.

How much does a battery weight?

The SLA battery is about 14kg/30lb, the NiMH battery is about 4kg/9lb, the Lithium battery is about 2.5kg/5.5lb.

There’s no power outlet in my garage, how can I charge the battery?

All our e-bikes have removable batteries, you can charge them inside your home or in your office.

How long does it take to charge a battery?

It depends on the residual charge, for a complete charge about 6 hours, for half a charge, 3 hours. We have chosen to avoid a fast-charge for our batteries to make them last longer.

Italwin e-bikes come with a warranty?

Yes of course, the warranty and the instruction booklet can be consulted at the dealer.

How does after-sales service work?
